Barbara Kettle Gundlach Shelter Home - we've worked with the Shelter since our
beginning and it's been a great local colaboration... Together we've
sponsored "Healing Through the Art" Series; Candlelight vigils; Explored
alternatives to violence with youth through Art and Discussion - and so much
more. Current the shelter is providing us with the services of Youth
Specialist, Diana Malnar as an artist/supervisor in our afterschool program. Thank you Emily and the staff at Barbara Kettle Gundlach!!!
STRONG FAMILIES/SAFE CHILDREN:
We began working with Strong Families/Safe Children in 2001, when they funded
our Garden 2001 project which included our teen mentor program, Delaware Mine
project and summer drop-in hours. SFSC monies currently fund a portion of our After-school
Program, some of our Graphic Arts Program and a portion of our Teen Assistant
Program.
Garden 2000 was funded in
part by a grant provided by the Prevention Network, which is funded through the
Michigan Department of Community Health, Bureau of Substance Abuse Services and
the Substance Abuse Treatment Federal Block Grant, as well as the Office of
Highway Safety Planning, Michigan State Police. The Western Upper Peninsula
District Health Department
CAPT for
the funding of our Technology Grant which allowed us to purchase a new computer,
and to provide Internet Access for our students, and members of the community
